We have the keys! The house is finished

At long last we have the keys. Tomorrow we move in finally!

HOORAY. HOORAY.


John 14:1-3 Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

The completed driveway!

This makes the house look more ready to move in. In fact, we'll be moving in on the 18th March!

Freshly laid driveway

The driveway was poured this morning. You can see the cobblestone patterns being applied to the edge there.

Driveway preparation

Today the excavation and formwork for our driveway have been done. There's still a little more formwork to go, and the re-inforcing steel still needs to be laid out.

Carpets are done!

The carpeting was completed today.

A good day's work...flooring

Today Dad and Stephen layed the floating floor. Here you can see through the front door into our hallway. On the right you can see the first floor board laid on top of the underlay.


Now a few boards have been laid.


Here you can see the completed hallway. The concrete visible to the left is where carpet will be laid on Friday.


Here is the completed kitchen. The floor is a bit dusty, you can see concrete dust footprints on it. It will therefore look a little brighter and cleaner once we've finished! On the left you can still see concrete - we need to complete the family room tomorrow.

The plumbing was completed today




And all the door handles are now on. Yes this is the door room...

Nearly done?

The garage door has been installed and the exterior painting completed.


The front door has been painted.


The family room door has been stained.



We've installed the railings on part of the deck now, and the deck has been painted.

Kitchen - looking good!

The bench tops have been installed, all the cupboard doors are on and the sink is in place.

Electrical wiring

The electricians have installed the switchboard. Cables and conduits for power, phone and gas have been laid between the house and the street.

Kitchen and Vanities

Our kitchen has been installed (not finished though). Here are the before and after photos.

And the vanities have arrived.

Fix out

Doors, architraves...

...and tiling have all begun.

Deck and bath

Erina stained the deck on the weekend.

The bath was installed today

Deck roof goes on!

The roof sheeting is now on the deck.

Having built the floor of the deck we installed the posts and framed up the roof.
